Babu Sivan’s Interview about Vettaikaran to Vikadan
Q : The most important and crucial movie of Vijay is in your hands, do you feel any difference ?
A: Absolutely sir, the dream and fear doesn’t allow me to have a proper sleep. In a forest a hunter cant sleep without knowing if the deer has slept or the lion has slept, similarly our “Vettaikaaran” also hunts against the evils in the society without allowing the law to sleep. The Director gets very much excited while talking about the the film.
Q: What is so special in “Vettaikaaran” ?
A: The main story line of the movie is, a man who comes to the city from his village to achieve his goals where he takes the role of the hunter. Here in this movie, Vijay starts of his life in a very smooth manner at the start, but circumstances and situations divulged him to other path. At the end whether Vijay’s wish to become a police officer is fulfilled or not? is the story. All the ingredients needed for a commercial movie are included in this movie and every aspect of the movie has been gelled perfectly for a formula movie. This film will not only satisfy Vijay fans but will also satisfy all cinema lovers. The main plus of this movie is Vijay’s comedy. In those comedy scenes Vijay has done extremely well that cameraman and myself were laughing on the sets without cutting the scene. After Rajini only Vijay has the charm to do both natural comedy and action sequences. There has been talk’s about Vijay sir’s entry into politics but in this movie there is not even a shade of politics.
Q : How did u choose anushka for this movies ?
A : Vijay Sir has acted with all the leading heroines in Tamil cinema, so i thought of introducing some one who is beautiful, fresh and a new face in this movie. The first face which struck my mind was Anushka’s. When she was approached for this movie, she was very much excited as she herself was a big fan of Vijay ,so she didn’t have any second thoughts in working for this movie. The chemistry between this pair has worked out very well in this movie and Anushka’s eyes in this movie especially speaks a lot.
Q : Vijay’s son son Sanjay has danced for one song. Is is true ?
A : Super, no way Sanjay is related to cinema or dance, but without any proper rehearsal or practice he just came to the spot saw the master’s steps and observed it keenly and was ready for the shot. It is actually the opening song of the movie. After seeing Sanjay dance so well, Vijay was thrilled to see his performance, then i thought only Sanjay can overshadow Vijay in dance. Vijay and Anushka along with many other leading actors under AVM banner, we all have tried our best to give a huge and a big film this Diwali, hope it satisfies all cinema lovers. He finished his interview by finally saying ” Ithellam Pothum thane ” in Vijay style by shaking his head.

Tendulkar returns to top 10 of ICC rankings
Riding on his fantastic performance in the tri-series in Sri Lanka, veteran Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday returned to the top-10 of ICC One-day rankings, rising five places to seventh. For the first time in 10 months, Tendulkar is among the world’s top 10 after scoring his 44th One-day century for India, earning his team a 46-run victory over Sri Lanka in the final of the tri-series in Colombo. Sachin Tendulkar Special Tendulkar scored 138 to lay the foundation of India’s winning total of 320. Tendulkar, also the leading run-scorer in the series with 211 runs, had slipped out of the top-10 after the home series against England in November 2008 and had rested for the first three ODIs of the five-match series which India won 5-0. India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni leads the batting table from his vice-captain Yuvraj Singh who has achieved his career-best second place in the rankings for ODI all-rounders. Yuvraj leapfrogged Jacques Kallis of South Africa, Jacob Oram of New Zealand and Andrew Flintoff of England into second place after scoring 80 runs with the bat and taking four wickets with the ball.
Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins (2009)
Cast
- Freddie Prinze, Jr. – Fred Jones
- Sarah Michelle Gellar – Daphne Blake
- Matthew Lillard – Shaggy
- Linda Cardellini – Velma Dinkley
- Rowan Atkinson – Emile Mondavarious
With its snarky, eye-popping production design and disparate cast of popular young thespians, this live-action take on the Saturday-morning staple seemed like it had half a chance of pleasing Baby Boomers and Generation X. Instead, though, it’s a children’s flick, suitable only for Generation Z and almost completely lacking in Brady Bunch Movie-style winking. Scooby Doo does contain a few laugh-out-loud moments and lots of in-jokes about marijuana, but the film has been carefully engineered so as not to offend or confuse the kiddies. (Pointed references to Velma’s sexual orientation ended up on the cutting room floor, along with lots of other subversive hijinks if the Internet movie spies are to be believed.) The result is a movie that looks good and stays relatively true to its source material without ever seeming edgy or even engaging. Perhaps a cartoon whose very appeal has always been its extreme lameness couldn’t really afford to be enclosed in yet another set of quotation marks. But given the pedestrian CG and by-the-numbers spookiness on display, it seems the filmmakers couldn’t come up with anything compelling to replace the missing irony. Scooby-Doo himself is an computer-generated monstrosity who mixes poorly with the human actors. Of those performers, their watchability varies highly: The delightful Matthew Lillard mimics Casey Kasem perfectly but also invests Shaggy with something approaching human feeling. Linda Cardellini and Sarah Michelle Gellar both subvert feminine stereotypes and provoke chuckles, though within very strict parameters. The less said about Freddie Prinze, Jr., the better, though his blond dye job is far worse than his acting. The real blame for this supremely adequate outing lies at the feet of the corporate gatekeepers who decided to play it safe. Very young children will probably enjoy it, but for anyone older than 10, it’s a slight trifle at best. ~ Brian J. Dillard, All Movie Guide

Dubai’s Metro Rail Starts Rolling
Citywide metro rail service is set to begin operations today in Dubai. The system will start out with ten operational stations, but eventually include 47 stops along 70 kilometers of track.
The rapid implementation of the rail system is being heralded as a major infrastructural improvement in the city, and one that some expect to bring about big changes to the city’s urbanity.
“Considering that construction of the most modern Metro system on the planet only commenced on the fifth of the fifth month of 2005, a grand opening a few months beyond four years hence represents a monumental achievement in a practical sense. Putting the last statement in perspective, the Red Line stretches over a distance of 47 kilometres, with stations located on average every 1.5km. On eventual of completion of both lines, there is a Green counterpart; the linear track count will rise to 70km and the network will embrace 47 stations, nine of them underground.”
